The Process

  • Vibe check. You, your partner and Melisa chat via zoom (15 – 30 minutes). She’d love to hear about your plans and discuss how she can be of assistance. This is an opportunity for you to be assured that Melisa is the right person for you.

  • You’ve chosen Melisa.

Sign her service agreement and pay the non-refundable, non-transferable booking fee to secure your chosen date.

  • Melisa will arrange a second zoom where you sign the first of three legal documents called a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM). This legal document must be completed within 18 and 1 calendar months before the marriage ceremony date.

Melisa will provide you with resources and information to assist you with the planning as well as options for the legal wording of the ceremony. Unlike and elopement or legal only ceremony, Micro / Destination Weddings includes your love story, a ring exchange and ritual.

Melisa will email a copy of the ceremony script for your approval.

Before the marriage ceremony Melisa will meet with you at the venue to sign the second legal document, known as a Declaration of No Legal Impediment to Marriage (DONLIM), when you will receive a complementary gift.

  • Melisa arrives 30 minutes prior to check in with the couple and witnesses to make sure everyone knows the plan.

The ceremony takes place where there may be laughter and tears along with heartfelt moments. The third legal document, the Marriage Certificate, is signed.

You also have the option of hiring Melisa as MC and / or writing the speeches for the couple, I Do crew, the parents or anyone else you would like saying a few words. That way there’s no awkward moments like stories about an ex or the wedding night!

  • Melisa submits the legal paperwork. You will receive the legal copy of the Marriage Certificate from the Registry of Births Deaths and Marriages by mail.

Melisa will contact you to hear your thoughts about the day.
